When you first start out in business so many questions run through your head.
“Am I good enough”
“Will I succeed”
“Who will take me seriously”
“There are smarter people than me doing this”
“Should I even bother”
The list could go on and on. As you read those couple of examples did you nod in agreement? Did you just finish thinking some of those thoughts this week? Do you ask yourself these things daily? If you said Yes …..
STOP!!!!
You CAN succeed at your business! You CAN be taken seriously! You CAN be the best in your business! BUT… and this is a big but…. you MUST believe in yourself.
Now I get it, maybe you’re just starting out or you’ve been at it a little and you’re not sure if what you’re doing is working. These factors may make you second guess your abilities but they shouldn’t. I want to share with you 3 ways to OWN your business and your mindset around your business.
- Believe in yourself– I know, I know, you don’t feel like you’re good enough so how are you supposed to “believe in yourself”. Well the hard truth is, no one is going to believe in you or your mission if you don’t first believe in yourself. Take some time to truly figure out what it is your in business to do and why you started your business in the first place. Once you realize that you started your business to help, to teach, to share you’ll realize that you started because you knew you were great at something and wanted more. Focus on those factors, tell yourself OUT LOUD how fantastic you are, on a DAILY basis remind yourself that you can do whatever it is you set your mind to. You can do anything, but you first must believe in yourself.
- Put yourself out there– You’ve decided you’re in business, you know you’ve got great things to share, you have this amazing thing to give to people, so get out in front of them. Show up daily on social media, show up in your lists inbox regularly, go live and show your pretty face. What ever way you feel you connect best with your audience thats how you need to show up. But the key to showing up is showing up CONSISTENTLY! You can’t show up one day announce “Here I am with my amazing product buy it” and then not show up again for another week or two. You need to be out in front of those who want your stuff the most regularly; as in daily.
- Never stop learning– A big part of being in business is continuing to grow. You want to be the best in your business, you want to be the go to for XYZ, you want people to look at you or your products and without hesitation say “I need that”. In order for this to happen you must continue to grow yourself. Continually read/listen to personal development books ( Click here and you can check out my top 10 must read PD books here), Hire mentors to help keep you moving forward, complete self study courses. Whatever it is that will help keep you and your mindset moving forward are the actions you need to take. You don’t start out and say “I’m the best and this is what i’ve got for you” and then never continue to expand yourself. Always strive to grow as a person and a business owner. Not only will it benefit you but it will greatly impact your clients lives as well.
You’re not a fraud, you’ve got what it takes, now own it!
