Success as an entrepreneurial comes from a number of different things. The very first thing I learned when I started out as an entrepreneur was that NOTHING was easy, especially if you were trying to do things all on your own.

You know, theres a reason so many people take on coaches, recommend courses, read personal development books, attend conferences, connect with other biz people… because you literally can NOT do this alone!

The people who say “I’m a self made millionaire” are full of POOP! Yup, you heard me, they are FULL OF POOP. Because EVERYONE is where they are today because of someone, some story, some lesson that involved another human being. You may be the one physically putting in the time at the keyboard, but someone along the way helped you get where you are. Someone bought your products that earned you those dollars, someones story inspired you to do more, a conference change your mind frame, a book you read made you realize where your next move needed to be. Someone along your journey has helped you even if it was not by physically standing in front of you.

You MUST always be open to learning as an entrepreneur. This was the hardest thing I had to learn when I first started out many moons ago (I legit have no idea why I used that expression, but there it is lol). When I decided, back in 2014, that I wanted to quit my HORRIBLE desk job and go full time in my then side hustle I had been working and working and working at it but only sorta making waves. I had a friend tell me they read a book and it changed her business and her life. I trusted this friend so I bought the book. To this day I have re-read this book 4-5 dozen times because it did just what she promised, it changed my life!

The Compound Effect, by Darren Hardy, was life changing for me. The book described how every small action, no matter how seemingly insignificant, can have a HUGE impact on your life. Hardy shares how you can not improve upon whatever area of your life you’re looking to improve until you have measured it. The last big lesson he drives home is that you MUST take 100 percent responsibility for everything that happens to you. “You alone are responsible for what you do, don’t do, or how you respond to what’s done to you.”

If you want to succeed in your business, if you want to watch what you have built continue to grow, if you see your future in the current world you’re running in you MUST continue to be open to learning. “You will never change your life until you change something you do daily. The secret of your success is found in your daily routine.”- The Compound Effect

As Darren Hardy would say:

“Don’t wish it were easier; wish you were better.”

If I could recommend one book that would change your business and your life it would hands down be:

Do you have a book that changed your life? I’d love to hear what it was in the comments below!
